Maze denies Austrians to take second gold at Worlds
BEAVER CREEK (UNITED STATES) - Slovenia's Tina Maze won the super combined Monday for her second title at the World Alpine Championships.
The 31-year-old -- who took the downhill gold earlier in the championships -- produced the fastest time in the downhill leg.
She followed it with a superb slalom run, as the final skier out of the gate, to edge out Nicole Hosp of Austria.
Hosp's teammate Michaela Kirchgasser took the bronze while another Austrian Anna Fenninger, winner of the super-G title, finished just off the podium in fourth.
